Geographical Focus of UAE Assistance
Among the beneficiaries of this initiative, more than 27,000 orphans stand out, receiving comprehensive support
that covers their yearly expenses within orphanages as well as their crucial educational and health requisites.
Beyond this, the UAE’s compassionate outreach also extends to over 2,200 beneficiaries receiving direct financial
aid. Furthermore, acknowledging the needs of the differently-abled, the nation has extended its support to over
1,800 individuals with special needs, underlining the UAE’s holistic and inclusive approach to foreign assistance.
05 Technical Assistance and Capacity Building
The UAE’s multi-faceted aid reiterated the importance of enhancing Jordan’s governmental infrastructure. Beyond
the financial bolstering of Jordan’s general budget, the UAE channeled AED 39.1 million (USD 10.6 million)
specifically for the public sector policy and administrative domain. This allocation was strategically directed
towards introducing and optimizing government services, boosting operational efficiency, establishing cutting-
edge government accelerator centers, and imparting advanced programming and Information Technology (IT)
training.
06 Education
The UAE allocated AED 15.4 million (USD 4.2 million) towards bolstering Jordan’s educational sector. This spanned
across school construction, maintenance, support for public universities, and the strengthening of vocational
training in community colleges, as well as supporting Jordan’s Public Universities Development Program. In the
realm of emergency education, the UAE donated 5,000 books in Arabic and English to refugee camps and endorsed
the innovative ‘Education in Emergencies: School in the Cloud - High School Refugee Education Re-imagined’
program.
In terms of higher education support, the UAE also sponsored tuition fees for several Zarqa University students,
highlighting the importance of higher education support.
07 Other Sectors
The energy sector, with an emphasis on renewables, was allocated AED 5.5 million (USD 1.5 million). A noteworthy
project funded by the UAE includes a solar power plant with 28,320 photovoltaic panels. This facility is projected
to churn out 227 GWh of solar power annually for two decades, sufficient to power around 50,000 households.
Ongoing efforts in Jordan also saw continued advancements in projects focused on the drilling and establishment
of water wells.
