UAE’s Official Development Assistance (ODA)
a robust financial backing of AED 2.69 billion, or approximately USD 733.5 million.
The UAE’s commitment to global welfare does not stop at LDCs. The World Bank’s data indicates
that Middle-income Countries (MICs) house a significant 75% of the global populace and a staggering
62% of the world’s impoverished. Recognizing the immense developmental potential and challenges
within MICs, the UAE allocated AED 944.2 million (USD 257.1 million) to support Lower-middle Income
Countries (LMICs) in 2022, which constituted 15% of its total ODA for the year. Egypt, Pakistan, and
Palestine stood out as the principal beneficiaries within this category. Meanwhile, Upper-middle
Income Countries (UMICs) were not left behind, receiving a notable AED 1.98 billion (USD 539.5
million). Through these diverse allocations, the UAE underscores its holistic approach to international
development, seeking to create a balanced and inclusive global growth narrative.
