medical equipment, and essential medical supplies.
In Senegal, the UAE’s contributions extended beyond just building and maintaining health clinics. Responding to the
unfortunate fire incident in the neonatal department of the Mame Abdou Aziz Sy Dabakh Hospital located in Tifwani,
north of Dakar, the UAE promptly dispatched an aircraft loaded with 10 tons of vital medical equipment, medicines,
and supplies. This timely assistance aimed to alleviate the challenges arising from the fire and underscored the
UAE’s commitment to global healthcare support.

Other nations received operational funding support for their health facilities. A highlight was the UAE’s collaboration
with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Afghanistan, where a grant of AED 14.7 million was
committed to support the operational costs of the Sheikh Zayed Hospital-Kabul and the Sheikh Zayed University in
             Khost in 2022.
