                                   International Humanitarian City

“The International Humanitarian City: A paramount symbol of the UAE’s global humanitarian
outreach, rapidly channeling aid to the world’s most vulnerable communities.”

Established as a global hub for humanitarian aid and emergency response in 2003, the International
Humanitarian City (IHC) has emerged as a leading player in the United Arab Emirates’ foreign aid
landscape. Situated in a strategic location near Al Maktoum Airport and Jebel Ali Port, the IHC is
uniquely positioned to expedite the delivery of relief to the most vulnerable populations around the
world. With a sprawling campus that has expanded from 30,000 to 135,000 square meters, the IHC
hosts an impressive community of around 80 members, including United Nations organizations,
non-profits, non-governmental organizations, and commercial companies.

Capitalizing on Dubai’s geographic advantages, which enable IHC and its members to reach two-
thirds of the world’s population living in hazard-prone areas within 4-8 hours, the IHC has continually
refined its logistics capabilities. It has pioneered innovative aid delivery mechanisms, including the
Humanitarian Logistics Databank, and offers state-of-the-art facilities like a semi-automated kitting
center and a cold-chain facility for the long-term storage of vaccines and medical supplies.

Through its commitment to collaborative action, technological innovation, and efficient logistics,
the International Humanitarian City stands as a testament to the UAE’s dedication to fostering
global humanitarian efforts. It not only reinforces the nation’s status as a global donor but also
embodies its vision for a more equitable and sustainable world.
