The Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in Prague celebrated the National Day of the United Arab Emirates at the Hilton Hotel in Prague, where Ambassador Abdullah Almaainah welcomed the most prominent Czech political figures, most notably the President of the Senate of the Parliament of the Czech Republic and the President of the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic, representatives of the Parliament, Deputy Ministers, and Director of the Middle East and North Africa Department of the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as heads of diplomatic missions and businessmen who congratulated and expressed their wishes of prosperity to the United Arab Emirates, its leaders and its people.
Under the theme of the Year of Tolerance, a photo exhibition of Pope Francis’ historic visit to the United Arab Emirates in 2019 was displayed.
During his speech at the ceremony, Ambassador Almaainah spoke about the accomplishments that were achieved during 2019, which was proclaimed as the Year of Tolerance in the United Arab Emirates - the most prominent of which was the historic visit of Pope Francis, and laying the foundation stone for the construction of the Abrahamic Family House. The Ambassador also referred to the efforts made by the Government to empower Emirati women, along with the indicators of success of the Emirati passport in international rankings, the establishment of the Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence and the achievement of the Emirati youth Hazza Al Mansouri as the first Arab astronaut to visit the International Space Station, as well as the advanced positions held by the United Arab Emirates in global indicators and preparations for the opening of the EXPO 2020 exhibition in Dubai.
