The Georgian Ministry of Economy announced that the Georgian Energy Development Fund and the UAE’s Masdar Renewable Energy Company signed on December 26, 2023 the agreement to establish the “largest” solar power plant in Georgia.
Deputy Economy Minister Romeo Mikautadze said that the plant will be built in the Gardabani municipality of the southern Kvemo Kartli region.
Mohammad Jamil Al-Ramah, Director of Masdar, said: “I believe that today we have taken a very important step towards implementing the largest solar energy generation project in the region, and more importantly, we see the possibility of implementing more large-scale projects in the future.”
The company director also added that cooperation between the two countries is of a strategic nature and great importance.
