
Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan Al Nahyan, Minister of State, met with President Macky Sall of Senegal, during his visit to the Senegalese capital, Dakar.
Sheikh Shakhboot conveyed the congratulations of the UAE government on his election as Chairperson of the African Union (AU).
During the meeting, both sides discussed ways to develop bilateral relations in various fields, particularly in areas of investment and trade, in addition to reviewing a number of regional issues of mutual concern.
Sheikh Shakhboot conveyed to President Sall, the greetings of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, wishing Senegal and its peoplefurther progress and development.
President Sall, in turn, reciprocated his greetings to the UAE leaders, wishing further prosperity to the UAE and its people.
Sheikh Shakhboot underlined the UAE's keenness to enhance relations with Senegal, and increase the volume of bilateral trade and investments in several fields. He highlighted the growing relations between both countries, and the existence of many opportunities to serve the interests of their peoples.
Moreover, Sheikh Shakhboot met with Aïssata Tall Sall, Minister for Foreign Affairs and the Senegalese Diaspora, at the headquarters of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs and Senegalese Diaspora.
He stressed the UAE's eagerness to strengthen the ties that their countries share, by enhancing cooperation across various fields.
For her part, Minister Aïssata Tall Sall expressed her delight at Senegal having such strong relations with the UAE, and her appreciation of the UAE's leadership and people for their constant support of her country in all fields.
Sheikh Shakhboot also met with Amadou Hott, Senegal's Minister of Economy, Planning and International Cooperation, where they reviewed the prospects for enhancing investment and economic cooperation to advance the interests of their countries.
After the meetings, Sheikh Shakhboot visited the Dakar-based Mohamed bin Zayed Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, established by the Khalifa Fund for Enterprise Development at a cost of US$20 million to promote innovation and entrepreneurship, create jobs and empower women.
