With the support of the Sharjah Charity International and in collaboration with Al-Huda Mosque—one of the oldest mosques in Singapore—as well as various religious organizations and civil society groups, the UAE Embassy organized an open community Iftar attended by H.E. Jamal Abdullah Al Suwaidi, UAE Ambassador to the Republic of Singapore and several influential Singaporean figures from the political, cultural, religious, and intellectual spheres. The event also was attended by a large number of Singaporean citizens and expatriates. Among the distinguished guests were H.E. Christopher de Souza a member of the Singaporean Parliament, and H.E. Abdullah Tarmugi, the former speaker of the Parliament, and representatives from various churches and temples of different faiths and denominations.
This gathering served as an opportunity to highlight the spirit of Ramadan as a time for fostering closeness and promoting tolerance among diverse cultures and communities. The initiative was part of ongoing efforts to strengthen UAE-Singapore cooperation and reflected the UAE’s commitment to deepening bilateral relations in various fields—particularly in fostering interfaith dialogue and building bridges of mutual understanding and peaceful coexistence among communities and nations.
