The UAE delegation headed by His Excellency Mahash Alhameli – UAE Ambassador to South Africa and the UAE Sous Sherpa to the G20, participated in the first G20 Sherpa Meeting in Johannesburg from 9 to 10 December 2024. This First Sherpa meeting of the G20 intended to set the scene on what needs to be expected during the South African G20 Presidency. His Excellency the UAE Sous Sherpa to the G20 conveyed the UAE’s deepest appreciation to South Africa for inviting the UAE to participate in the G20 process in 2025, and commended Brazil for their efforts in hosting and coordinating the G20 summit in 2024.
