The Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in the Republic of Panama has launched several activities to promote different cultural fields through seminars, conferences and events that have been carried out since the establishment of the embassy in the Republic of Panama in 2017.
The United Arab Emirates and the Republic of Panama are characterized by having similarities in terms of cultural diversity, peaceful coexistence and human brotherhood. Both countries embrace this social framework that encompasses different ethnic groups, religions and traditions in an environment of coexistence, which reflects the promotion of the principle of tolerance and acceptance of the other despite a plurality of cultures and beliefs.
In this context, the Mission, through its cultural activities, organized several seminars in various Panamanian universities and national institutions, with the aim of highlighting the pioneering role of the UAE in various fields, especially in the field of tolerance. Tolerance is one of the key values in Emirati society, as the United Arab Emirates is a country that fosters tolerance, peace, security and multiculturalism, with more than 200 nationalities enjoying a life of dignity and respect. The laws of the United Arab Emirates guarantee justice, respect and equality for all, and criminalize hatred, extremism and all causes of division and difference.
In addition to this, the embassy participated in organizing cultural events, especially in the musical and artistic field, in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture and the Institute of Music of Panama, where the young talent pianist from the UAE demonstrated through the creation of an Emirati musical orchestra and a series of musical evenings at the Panamanian Conservatory. Furthermore, as a cultural initiative from the embassy in order to spread happiness to the children suffering from cancer and their families, a concert was organized by the Mission with the collaboration of an Emirati musician on the occasion of the International Day of Childhood Cancer, in addition to the various motivational seminars given to Panamanian hospitals patients and children in orphanages.
As a recognition of the efforts made by Panamanian medical personnel to limit the spread of the Covid-19 virus, the embassy implemented an initiative under the slogan "A Message of Solidarity", through which meals were provided to the medical teams that are in the first line of defense and who supervise the care and treatment of infected cases in several Panamanian hospitals as a symbol of social solidarity in this difficult world stage the country is going through.
