His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, today received His Excellency Ferdinand Marcos Jr., President of the Republic of the Philippines, in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, as part of His Excellency's visit to the country.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum welcomed the visit of the Philippine President and his accompanying delegation, expressing his hope that this visit will be an opportunity to advance cooperation in various fields to serve the interests of the two friendly countries and peoples.
During the meeting, they reviewed prospects for economic partnership between the two countries, especially in terms of enhancing trade and tourism exchange, stimulating investment, and encouraging the private sector to discover more paths of cooperation and create more opportunities for distinguished talents, in light of the common desire to accelerate progress towards achieving common goals that serve the comprehensive and sustainable development plans of both sides.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum praised the numerous contributions of the Filipino community, which he stressed are received with great hospitality and appreciation in the UAE, noting that the UAE welcomes all productive energies and distinguished competencies from around the world, and in various specializations, at a time when the country upholds the values of tolerance and coexistence and provides everyone living on its land with equal opportunities for success and development.
For his part, His Excellency President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. praised the comprehensive renaissance witnessed by the UAE and the major achievements it has produced in various fields, noting the unique model reflected by the UAE in adopting the approach of humanitarian work and its initiative to extend a helping hand to others in times of adversity and crises, as he expressed his deep gratitude to the UAE and its wise leadership for their noble stance in taking the initiative to provide urgent assistance to the Philippines to enable it to overcome the effects of harsh natural phenomena, the latest of which was the devastating Typhoon "Man-Yi" that recently hit some areas of it.
The meeting was attended by His Highness Sheikh Mansour Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Council for the Security of Ports and Borders, Her Excellency Reem Bint Ibrahim Al Hashimy, Minister of State for International Cooperation, and His Excellency Mohammed Obaid Salem Al Qattam Al Zaabi, UAE Ambassador to the Philippines.
