His Excellency Hassan Ahmed Al Shehhi, UAE Ambassador to the Syrian Arab Republic, met with His Excellency Hammouda Sabbagh, Speaker of the People’s Assembly of Syria, and delivered a message from His Excellency Saqr Ghobash, Speaker of the Federal National Council (FNC).
During the meeting held at the headquarters of the People’s Assembly in Damascus, H.E. Al Shehhi underscored the fraternal and deep-rooted relations between the UAE and Syria, highlighting the importance of popular diplomacy and its role in supporting political diplomacy to achieve prosperity and the welfare and development of both nations and peoples.
For his part, H.E. Sabbagh commended the UAE’s position in supporting Syria and its people, and highlighted the deep-rooted fraternal relations between Syria and the UAE across various fields. His Excellency also reaffirmed the importance of working to strengthen and develop ties, especially at the parliamentary level, and coordination to hold joint meetings between the two parliamentary committees in the People's Assembly and the Federal National Council.
The meeting was attended by members of the Syrian People's Assembly, and the Syrian-Emirati Brotherhood Committee, as well as Abdul Hakeem Al-Nuaimi from the UAE Embassy in Damascus.
