UAE sends medical aid to Romania in fight against COVID-19

The United Arab Emirates sent an aid plane containing seven metric tons of medical supplies to Romania to bolster the efforts of the country to curb the spread of COVID-19. More than 7,000 medical professionals in Romania benefited from these medical supplies, fact which has contributed to their efforts to cease the spread of the virus. In this context, H.E. Dr. Ahmed Abdullah bin Saeed Al Matrooshi, UAE Ambassador to Romania, declared: "The United Arab Emirates have strong relations with Romania, and this initiative of the country to send medical aid to Romania reflects these outstanding relations, and will support and empower thousands of Romanian medical professionals". In this context, Mr. Raed Arafat, Head of the Department for Emergency Situations in Romania (DSU), thanked the UAE Government and the UAE Ambassador to Romania, and emphasized the great importance of this aid delivery to the medical sector in Romania. This initiative comes within the frame of a series of aids that the Government of the United Arab Emirates decided to send to different countries of the world that witness the escalation of the new coronavirus, as it aims at reinforcing the international efforts to reduce its spread.
