"Romanian Athenaeum"; the center of the old city of Bucharest
On 22 June 2019, the UAE Cultural Week, organized by the Ministry of Culture and Knowledge Development in the United Arab Emirates, in cooperation with the UAE Embassy in Bucharest, was inaugurated. The inauguration ceremony was held at the "Romanian Athenaeum". On this occasion, H.E. Dr. Ahmed Abdullah Al Matrooshi, UAE Ambassador to Romania, welcomed the attendance of H.E. Sheikh Salem Al Qassimi, Assistant Undersecretary for Knowledge Development Sector at the Ministry of Culture and Knowledge Development in the United Arab Emirates, and H.E. Mihai Alexandru Gherghe, Minister of State in the Ministry of Culture and National Identity of Romania has also been present at the event. A number of Arab ambassadors and foreign ambassadors accredited to Romania attended the ceremony. Between 22nd to 25th June 2019, the events organized in the context of the UAE Cultural Week in Romania were launched and held in the center of the old city of Bucharest, this location having been chosen for its strategic position, the old city of Bucharest being considered one of the city's favorite destinations. On this occasion, H.E. Dr. Ahmed Abdullah Al Matrooshi accompanied the guest of honour, H.E. Sheikh Salem Al Qassimi, Assistant Undersecretary for the Knowledge Development Sector at the Ministry of Culture and Knowledge Development in the United Arab Emirates, in a tour around all sections of the Emirati Cultural Village, which included various features of UAE's heritage and culture , such as handicrafts and traditional arts in the UAE, popular Emirati cuisine, as well as a photo gallery dedicated to the founding father, The late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God rest his soul.
