UAE Ambassador to Romania attends the conference hosted by Special Olympics International, on the occasion of the expansion of “Unified Champion Schools” programme in six countries, including Romania

H.E. Dr. Ahmed Abdullah bin Saeed Al Matrooshi, UAE Ambassador to Romania, attended the conference organised by Special Olympics International, context in which there has been announced that Special Olympics "Unified Champion Schools" programme - which was the recipient of an exceptionally generous gift from His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the United Arab Emirates Armed Forces, who donated $25 million to promote and implement Unified Champion Schools (UCS) across the globe – has also expanded across Romania. Unified Champion Schools (UCS) programme is one of the largest drivers of social change. UCS helps children with and without intellectual disabilities to develop a new understanding of inclusion through direct contact and collaboration in sporting activities and youth leadership. On this occasion, H.E. the UAE Ambassador to Romania welcomed the initiative of Special Olympics International to extend the UCS programme across Romania as well, and conveyed wishes of success for the Romanian delegation, especially for the future sports competitions its representatives will take part in. The attendance of H.E. Dr. Ahmed Abdullah bin Saeed Al Matrooshi, UAE Ambassador to Romania, at this conference with the representatives of Special Olympics International, aims to encourage and promote a global expansion in the field of inclusion, for children with intellectual disabilities.
