The Embassy of the United Arab Emirates to the Republic of Cyprus would like to point out that in cases where a parent is traveling with their children without the presence of the other parent, the authorities at the legal points of entry of the Republic of Cyprus may request proof of consent of the other parent for the journey of the children. This proof may be in the form of a consent letter or document, certifying that the other parent consents to the traveling of the children. This practice aims to prevent the possibility of unlawful extraction of minors from the country.
In this respect, it is recommended that any parent who travels alone with their children holds such a consent document from the other parent, to facilitate their traveling procedure and to aid the local authorities in the execution of their duties.
