H.H. Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, met today with Samantha Mostyn, Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia.
During the meeting, H.H. Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed conveyed the greetings of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan and his wishes for progress and prosperity to Australia and its people.
The Governor-General, in turn, reciprocated her greetings to the UAE President and her wishes for the continued prosperity and advancement of the UAE.
The meeting focused on discussing the strong friendship and bilateral cooperation between the UAE and Australia, particularly as both countries will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1975.
Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan expressed his pleasure at visiting the friendly country of Australia and emphasised the shared commitment to building a solid foundation for fruitful and sustainable cooperation between the two countries, as well as a comprehensive and growing economic partnership to support their efforts in achieving comprehensive development across all sectors.
Additionally, the two sides discussed several issues of mutual interest and exchanged views on them.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Thani Bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Minister of State for Foreign Trade; Saeed Mubarak Al Hajeri, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Economic and Trade Affairs; and Dr. Fahad Obaid Al Taffaq, UAE Ambassador to Australia.
